If I remember well, these are the steps for my interview:
1. talent manager interview
2. technical interview with Team Lead
3. SQL test
4. in dept interview with Direct Manager
5. Offer

Colloquio
Until the very last stage of the process, it has been a lovely experience with the recruitor and one of the guys that was meant to be my colleague.
- A phone screening with the recruiter
- A 1-2-1 with a potential colleague
- An SQL test
- A final round of get-to-know-each other 30 minute interviews with other team members / team leads
(3 additional interviews)
I specifically asked if the final stage of interviews involves any tests and I was told that it wouldn't.
Yet when I got to speak with my manager-to-be, she told me "You listed problem-solving as your skills, let's solve some problems together" and went on to ask me to solve some logical problems with water buckets :) Furthermore, she started asking me SQL syntax questions, which wouldn't have bothered me, but that is not what a candidate expects from a team-fit interview.
Needless to say that even though after the SQL test I've been told they're extremely happy to move on, suddenly after the "team fit" round my technical skills were not good enough.
It would be great to tell people "Listen, one person in your future team didn't feel like you would fit in, didn't resonate with you, etc". My tech skills should have been clear enough by that stage.
Glad it didn't work out, who would like to work with a manager that can't be honest with you? :)
