Application, Interview and selection. Application was the initial submission along with a Resume. Second was an intensive interview with the Regional Manager - Questions were open ended and brought in real management scenarios.After selection the most difficult part came when you had to complete a test that included 200 plus multiple questions , presentation and a live real concern.
Good company, hard to move up in the company unless you want to move a lot. Good training program. Have to go through multiple interviews before you will possibly be able to interview with your future boss.

I interviewed for a Store Director role. After the initial interview with the recruiter, I was set up to speak with the District Manager and HR business partner. My interview with the District Manager was an overall negative experience. I was informed at the start of my conversation that the HR partner couldn't join us. The DM didn't smile, made no attempt at small talk, and essentially whipped through the interview packet as fast as possible. This made the interview very stiff and I felt unimportant to the process from the jump.

I was 100% qualified for Store Director position with over 20 plus years in grocery retail management. I believe that my age was the reason I was not offered a job. Age discrimination is practiced at Meijer. They are loosing out on hiring great people.
