Weirdest and worst interview and process I've ever experienced. Typical apply online, phone interview and an in-person interview. The phone interview was informative and impressive, I really felt the position was a good fit. My hopes were quickly dashed by first impressions during the onsite interview. Front desk person acted confused. While you sit and wait, and wait and wait, you get to listen to a boiler-room type of operation on a floor above. It must be a customer service center. The first impression of the person who I interviewed with was very bad. If you've had a handful of interviews you appreciate the ones where the person puts you at ease and is interested in your responses. This was not the case at Mercer. The experience was more like being in front of a firing squad. Might I add that it was a very sunny day, however, the interviewers' blinds were closed to make the office dark and depressing. It really fit the style of the questions being asked. As I drove away, I thought to myself, "That just went really bad!" And I could not get away from that place fast enough. No amount of money would ever make me want to send them a resume for a future position. It's awfulness just radiated from within.
