Hired through a recruitment agency, started with a few technical questions over email, including some questions about you as a person. Next stage was a face to face interview with the team, with a simple technical test about the role followed by questions about the answers you provided about yourself in the previous email. After I had the completed the interview stage and received a job offer I was told I would have to pay back a fee if I left within a year of joining the company. Completely unacceptable in any way, shape or form. Needless to say I declined the offer. My advice would be to avoid the company like the plague if they're forcing you to pay to leave them.
