Phone interview was rushed and did not allow discussion specific to the apparel division. It seems as if the apparel division is being run as if it is like an electric tool; draw up plans, manufacture to those schematics, and expect it to run. Apparel is not a science, rather it is a development process that is a combination of art, craft, science, and timing. Can't treat this hire as you would another mechanical engineer for lighting or power tools. Interviewer had no idea of the type of person or skills needed to lead the apparel division or correct the problems they are currently experiencing.
