Spoke with the Recruiter, who was friendly, helpful and informed.
Later spoke to the hiring manager who was clearly set against me from before the interview started. He started the interview by saying, "look at your background it looks like you are trying to take your career in a new direction and learn these competencies on the job." I was very surprised by this, and quickly explained how all of the competencies on the job description and confirmed in my conversation with the recruiter, I've had some level of professional experience with. Later in the interview, he implied that I was using the term "eLearning" incorrectly when I really meant "Live trainings." As a professional with half-a-decade's experience in the industry, these terms are very elementary and this was quite insulting. I explained that I used the term eLearning to mean online classes with no instruction, and the term Live trainings to mean classes with an instructor present.
The entire interview felt as if he was trying to catch me in a lie, rather than to learn about my experiences.
Additionally, he refused to have conversation with me. He had a list of questions in front of him, and insisted on reading them off, one by one. When I tried to foster a back-and-forth by throwing my own questions in, he asked me to hold my questions until the end, it was quite uncomfortable.
