I then was informed of the next phase of their interview process, and the hiring manager tentatively set an interview date but needed to confirm the time of day. I never heard from the hiring manager again after sending a thank you note, a follow-up email and phone call to inquire. It is very unprofessional and disappointing to treat any candidate this way. Candidates do deserve to know if the position filled or the needs of the job changed.
