I should have been filtered out in the screening call: although the recruiter seemed excited about me, I don't think she had any clue of what the team was actually looking for. In the follow-up interview, I discovered that my experience did not match the expectations of the team lead at all. Lack of communication between recruiter and team lead resulted in a total waste of time interview that was extremely demoralizing.
