A third-party recruitment company reached out to me about a position at MongoDB. I'm quite skeptical about recruitment agencies, but this one seemed to be a good one. I was very well-impressed with the depth of information provided and all the support. When I was put in touch with the internal recruitment team, I was quite disappointed. MongoDB has such a great reputation for being a reference when it comes to sales, so I expected the recruitment team to be also stellar - as they're also selling the company in a way. To my disappointment, when I connected with the recruiter, he seemed completely distracted, I had to repeat same things two-three times... completely weird call. Following this call, I was sent a 'logical' test - when it comes to a senior sales position, my experience, background and results should speak for itself. The test was awful. Half of the test was 5th grade maths and the other half was basically to test "vocabulary" (I had to find a synonyms for mud puddle). This seemed completely odd and the opposite I expect from a recruitment process for a senior position. I never got a response after completing the test.
