      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite un'agenzia di reclutamento personale. La procedura ha richiesto 3 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Montverde Academy (Montverde, FL)

      Colloquio

This was a few years ago, and I hope things have changed since then. The interview was fine, and I made it to the campus interview stage. What followed was bizarre and deeply unprofessional. First, they picked me up from my accommodations an hour too early and left me sitting around waiting for someone (I wasn't told who) to show up to interview me. Eventually, someone came by and asked me why I was waiting. They seemed confused when I explained I was there for a campus visit. They took me to someone in administration, who apologized and said things were "a little crazy" because some important donor's funeral was that day and asked some cursory questions. They did not have an agenda or schedule for me. Nobody showed up to my teaching demonstration except the teacher whose class I was teaching for the day. After the teaching demonstration, since nobody had shown up, there was nobody to take me to whomever I was supposed to talk to next. Again, I had no agenda or schedule. After waiting outside (in Florida, in the sun, in a suit) for awhile, I wandered back to the administration building, which was basically empty because everyone was at lunch. A coach happened by, felt bad when I explained what was happening, and walked me to the cafeteria so that I could have lunch and meet some of the other teachers. They ignored me and gossiped among themselves. After that, once again, I was left without any idea of where to go or whom to talk to. So, again, I headed back to the administration building. From that point, they just took me around campus to "interview" with whoever was available. During this day-long series of interviews for a position as an English teacher, I talked to one administrator, a random coach who took pity on me, one teacher, the school nurse, and the athletics director. And, of course, I never heard from them again once they dropped me back off at the airport at the end of the day.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

I honestly don't remember. I'm just posting about my experience at the *CAMPUS VISIT* stage so that anyone else who gets dragged out there knows that they will need sunscreen and comfortable shoes for wandering around looking for help and to be prepared to be interviewed by a nurse rather than the head of the school.
