I had the strangest experience I’ve ever had in an interview. It took place at the manager’s house on the back porch. He spent an hour talking about himself and history of failures and successes. He didn’t ask me anything about my experience or explain the job. When I asked about starting pay and pathway, he couldn’t remember and blew it off. He felt I was over-qualified so he spent a lot of time convincing me the position wasn’t a good fit. Then he told me to come to the morning meeting and check it out. I told him I was still interviewing and didn’t want to waste anyone’s time as I completed that process. Undeterred, he kept pushing the issue, making me feel uncomfortable and having to lie “yes, I’ll be there (now let me go).” He seemed like an Ok guy, but I left the interview without any understanding of the job or what a job offer looked like. I did not attend the meeting. I also would not hire this company.
