I attended their speaking engagement on campus and networked with some professionals. I applied online through my campus's career portal. The recruiter also held office hours on campus for us to ask questions. The interview was 15 minutes with the partner I had previously networked with so it was relaxing. He asked me to tell him about myself and why I chose accounting then he opened it up for questions. I heard back the following week with a call from the recruiter who invited me to the program.

As an accounting student at a university in Washington, we a re recruited by Moss Adams for their summer leadership program. We go through interviews on campus. These interviews aren’t like many job interviews. They don’t ask the same generic questions such as strengths and weaknesses but instead they just try to get to know you. They ask why I chose Moss Adams, or why I chose to go to this school. It is very laid back. They just want to see if you can hold a conversation since you will be representing the company on different audits. If you are chosen then you are offered to attend their summer leadership program in which ever location you applied to. Fast forward to the summer when you attend the leadership program. For me it was a great experience and really helped me chose which firms I enjoyed the most. With Moss, they give you a tour of the office and you get to meet a lot of Tax and Audit professionals. They then set you up with two interviews each with a different person. These interviews were also laid back and the questions were pretty easy to answer. Both interviews you pretty much talk about yourself and why you chose what you did. A very important thing to note is make sure to bring questions to ask the professionals. They have first hand experience and it helps a lot to hear about the work they do. After the summer leadership conference was over we were told that they would get back to us by the end of the summer. At the end of the day, I received an offer for a summer internship in the summer of 2016. My experience was awesome and I liked everything about the company from the office to the great people that work there. I am excited to see where this internship takes me.
