After being selected for an interview and discussing the salary package based on my current compensation, it seems the HR department may not have the budget or other reasons. The HR explained the salary breakdown but did not send the offer letter, instead asking me to wait. A couple of month later, they scheduled another interview and the next day, HR emailed me stating that there was a mismatch in requirements. This feedback is unacceptable to me. However, it's possible they don't have the budget, despite my 16 years of experience in the same job, along with project management experience.
