The interview process is quite thorough and involves multiple stages. As of this writing, the company has not had anyone in a formal sales role since 2020, which may contribute to why the hiring process is more extensive than expected for similar positions. The process begins with a 30-minute introductory call with a team member named Ed, who provides background on the company and its history. This is followed by a one-hour Zoom interview with the CEO. Candidates who advance are asked to complete a sales exercise, which involves writing a pitch script and role-playing it with both Ed and the CEO—this also takes about an hour. Next, there are additional interviews with team members from departments such as marketing and data, typically lasting another hour. The final step is an in-person coffee meeting. In total, there are approximately five stages. While the process is clearly intended to be thorough, the overall structure and expectations were somewhat unclear. I was not contacted further after several rounds, which was surprising given the time invested by both the team and candidates.

Called me, proceeded to flex how long they've been in business and talk about what the sales process is for 17 minutes straight and its just standard run-of-the-mill cold call til commission structure. When I asked if expectations on sales people were adjusted due to the nationwide unemployment - was told that it all depended on the lens I perceived the situation with and how they see it as 180 degree opposite and only deal with a million dollar corporations so for them it's an opportunity. At the very least this was disturbing given this is a crisis that is resulting in poverty for millions of Americans with no actions of relief. The sheer obliviousness was outrageous. With other phrases such as "you might not understand", "what you're not gonna do", "well if you let me finish" are not sentences of dialogue I am happy to hear in a professional environment. At the end I was so tired of working there I wanted to quit before I even got an offer.
