      Colloquio

      I had a strong initial experience, with proactive communication following my application and an initial interview with the hiring team which involved going over my experience and CV, and clear next steps and timelines were outlined. There was a good rapport established, and the process initially felt professional and engaging. I also invested significant time preparing for the interview and researching the company, reflecting my genuine interest in the role. However, the experience after the interview did not reflect the same standard. The timelines discussed were not met, and I did not receive any further communication following my interview, even after proactively following up with the internal recruiter to ask. I later noted that the role has been reposted, again without any update or closure on my application. For a role at this level, this lack of communication is disappointing. In Procurement, professionalism, transparency and doing the right thing are fundamental principles and these should extend to how candidates are treated throughout a process. At a minimum, clear communication and constructive feedback would be expected. Having since seen similar themes reflected in other candidate reviews, it appears there is an opportunity to improve consistency and accountability in candidate communication. Overall, while the initial engagement was positive, the lack of follow up significantly undermined the experience and was very disappointing, given the time and effort candidates take in preparing for an interview. To receive feedback following an interview is the bare minimum to be expected, especially for a company of this size. Even if there are internal delays, there’s no reason an update can’t be shared.
