I met with the CTO for an initial screening, hoping to learn more about the team and culture. Unfortunately, he seemed completely uninterested from the start and largely refused to answer my questions about Mutiny’s people or processes. When I asked how he actively fosters the company’s professed culture and values, his response was literally, “It pretty much handles itself.”
As someone who’s followed the CEO’s talks on the importance of thoughtful hiring and cultural stewardship, this was really disheartening. If culture is important to you, don't be fooled by their public messaging
Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite un'altra fonte. La procedura ha richiesto 4 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Mutiny (New York, NY)
Colloquio
Relaxed but thorough. The interview comprised of three stages - first stage, getting to know you and the company including basic questions. Second stage included a technical assessment which comprised of a three hour task. Final stage would involve speaking to the line manager and other BDRs.

Select 3 target companies you believe would be a good fit for Mutiny. Explain the logic behind your selections.
I spoke with a recruiter and had a great conversation, I thought. She was enthusiastic about me and passed me on to the HM the following week. However, when I spoke to the HM, she asked me the exact same list of questions and seemed disinterested in my answers. I progressively lost confidence in myself as a candidate as she didn't hold eye contact or ask any follow-ups. This felt like a waste of my time because the recruiter had asked to record my call with her. Couldn't the HM have read AI-generated notes on the conversation so we didn't go through all the same screener questions? I was essentially being screened twice.
I got an instant rejection the next business day, which was no surprise because I felt like my answers were all clipped. It's hard to give a great interview with you feel like you have already lost the interest of the person you're speaking with. If someone is uninterested in my candidacy, I'd prefer that they didn't book time with me in the first place.
