Colloquio
Applied online, then got a call about a week or two later. She asked if I was free to have a telephone interview. The lady was super nice over the phone and didn't make you feel awkward at all. She asked simple questions that were really easy to answer and felt more like a conversation than a job interview. The call lasted about 10 mins and she told me right there that she wanted to call me in for a team assessment.
The in store assessment was okay. When I first got there we were sat in the staff room and we watched a 10 min dvd on customer service at next. (What to do , what not to do). It was me and 2 other girls. Then we were shown around the store and given a tour. After this, I got split up from the other two and I was put on men's floor. The other two got to go on women's wear which I thought was a bit unfair. I was put with one of the sales assistants who was keeping an eye on me, while the manager was with the other two girls downstairs. The menswear floor was dealt quiet and had hardly any customers to assist. They were all mostly just coming to collect their orders from online. I was told to greet customers, tidy up a bit and ask if anybody needed help. Although I tried my best and did go up to every customer on the floor, I was called into the office and told that they were not offering me the job. I was told there was not enough approach from me after the manager was given feedback from all the others on the men's floor. It was quite boring I didn't have much to do and most people just went straight to the till. I don't understand as I was kind of just thrown in there and told to help. I did offer assistance and some customers did ask me for help, after which I asked another team member to help me. However, i was given a £10 gift card and £10 in cash for attending the interview.
They will show you the store and give you tasks on how to help customers, displaying competencies in customer service, this depends on deparments because if you work in another department, they will make you tag or fold clothes.
Applied online, did an online assessment, then a video interview. After that they made me come into the store and put an outfit together (for a wedding guest I believe) in 30 minutes. You pick out the outfit, jewellery, makeup, shoes, other accessories etc.
Easy interview on the phone then in store trial where i had to help customers and tidy the shop floor. The process was quick and easy and I was offered the job on the spot
