This position was for the NOV - Tuboscope Division. I underwent a phone interview with NOV HR two weeks after initially applying on-line. I then underwent a personal interview with the hiring manager one week later. Despite an easy interview that lasted one hour, I left the meeting unsure how things transpired from the hiring manager's vantage point. I courteously asked HR for any feedback once known, but all they conveyed was I would be notified of the next step whether it would be with me or not. After three weeks of waiting, I directly called the hiring manager to determine status. I found out that the position had been filled that day. My background investigations also uncovered the possibility that NOV - Tuboscope decided to pursue other candidates one week after interviewing me. This meant HR knew two weeks prior that I would not be moved to the next step, yet they remained silent. A few hours after my phone conversation with the hiring manager, I received an e-mail from the HR representative notifying me that they will pursue other candidates. THANKS HR!!!
