      Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite un'agenzia di reclutamento personale. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso NYK Line (City of London, England) nel mese di apr 2024

      Colloquio

      This is a Cyber Security Management role. I made it very clear to the recruitment company and the interviewers that although I had experience in managing a SOC, it was more on the Service Delivery side using global standards such as ITIL to develop and mature the service. So, although I understood the basics of CyberSec and understood the terminology, I was not technical within this area. They continued to assure me that they did not mind that I did not have much experience with this as they were looking for someone to people manage which I have over 10 years experience in. During the interview process they did ask me technical CyberSec related questions which of course I could only give generic answers because I do not have that much experience within this sector. They then asked me people management questions, as someone who is seasoned in this area, having managed managers, team leads, engineers and analysts, I have conducted interview processes in the past and know what good answers 'look like', so I gave very detailed answers based on specific scenarios. I am well spoken, professional, personable and approachable. I have a lot of fantastic feedback of my ability as a manager on my LinkedIn profile as well from ex colleagues who I had closely worked with. I got feedback that I wasn't suitable for the role & that my answers weren't strong enough. Well, the only answers that weren't strong enough were the ones related to CyberSec which they knew prior to interviewing me that I would not have known! In all, if they are wanting someone with more experience within CyberSec then the £75k salary that they are offering is far too little. It just seemed like a massive waste of my time.
