I received an email from the recruiter to set up a phone screen. The screen lasted about 30 minutes, the recruiter passed me on to the next round and sent me an assessment. She said the assessment wasn’t pass or fail, but once she received it she would contact me again so we can set up a face to face interview. After I did the assessment I let her know I had finished it. I followed up again a few days later. No answer. I followed up three times only to be ignored by the recruiter. Very unprofessional. Later that week (three weeks later) I received a very generic automated response email stating that I did not qualify for the position of receptionist.
1. I did not apply to be a receptionist.
2. Why send a generic email? That was rude and unprofessional. I had already been in contact with the recruiter. If the recruiter had found another candidate more suitable, she could have let me know in an email. I have friends who work in the recruiting business so I know that this is not normal or acceptable behavior. They will not be recommending this company to any clients or consultants of theirs. I’m glad they showed their true unprofessionalism early, that means working with them would not have been great.
