I was contacted by a company recruiter based on my LinkedIn profile. After an initial phone call, I updated my resume and submitted it. Then everything went very quickly: half hour phone interview with lead in Georgia and three-hour series of interviews with the team at headquarters. Within days I had a verbal offer and, after my references were checked, an offer letter. Just over three weeks from initial contact to offer letter. Very impressive ability to make a decision and act on it!

I was asked a series of accounting questions. Fortunately, I'd been warned that my previous accounting background was one of the things they liked about me. Still, I missed an easy question: after assets and liabilities, what makes a balance sheet balance? In my defense, it's been 20 years since I looked at a balance sheet.
