Very strange. Recruiter completely missed our first scheduled call. I had to call him to reschedule (very unprofessional). Also, recruiter openly admitted that when they post a job, they will give it a title to better attract applicants, but the actual title is something that is traditionally lower in the organizational structure. For example, was told - "Another example from earlier in the year was when we were hiring a "Java Architect", but internally we just call everyone Software Engineers". Position I interviewed for was posted as "Engineering Manager (Hands On) ", but when I started the interview process it was for "Development Lead". Definitely not common in the industry and I have never seen this before in over 10 years of experience in the industry. I probably should have ended the process there, but went ahead with it.
