      Colloquio per Financial Advisor

      Candidatura

La procedura ha richiesto 2 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso New England Life (Skokie, IL) nel mese di apr 2009

      Colloquio

An automated email sent as a result of my Monster.com profile followed by an automated, online interview scheduler. Interview turned out to be a group interview with 30 people in the office conference room. They lay out the job details and benefits and ask if the company is right for you before moving on. (As everyone appeared to be unemployed, the answer was a resounding yes.) This was followed shortly by am odd computer based personality test and a small aptitude test. The test also asked for a lot of personal information. I believe it was for a background check. They compare your fit to the company's standard ("guardian of the culture" as the interviewer called himself) and print off the results to show you. If you are above a certain level, you wait around for a short personal interview (screening?) and schedule another interview within two weeks. The second interview is with your functional manager. Again, it is short and not very useful. They mainly want to know if you have any questions (their strategy: reveal your ignorance/weakness???). The next interview is with the district manager and could be a few weeks later. Again, it didn't seem incredibly useful for either party. Felt like a good fit but they had a screened group of 10 for only 5 spots (not exactly 'full time' spots since you had to earn your licence...). The entire process seemed very mechanical and, like most sales/advisor jobs, suggested a high turnover.
