I cut the interview short when I was informed that I would be required to submit my entire personal tax returns before an offer would be made. They said they want to ensure you made said amount. It's nonsense and it's used to put you in a weak negotiating position.

Unacceptable for sub 100k base. It's really used to weaken your ability to negotiate salary under the guise of we have to validate you made this money. That's what HR depts. are for not my tax returns.
