      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite un selezionatore. La procedura ha richiesto 3 giorni. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso NorthStar Memorial Group (Houston, TX) nel mese di mar 2015

      Colloquio

I was interviewed by the current System Administrator who will be moving up to a Sr. System Admin position once they hire a new System Administrator. This was a phone interview. The guy had to hang up with me within just a minute of the initial call, as he had called from his desk; and he must work in a shared area or cubicle where everyone was being very loud. When he called me back, he had moved to a conference room and put me on speaker phone. I'm not sure if he did this because there were others sitting in and listening on the call, but I could not hear him very well and I honestly felt it was unprofessional. I was asked what I knew about the company, and I told him what very little I could gather from their website which doesn't really tell you anything about what they actually do. It gives you locations across the U.S. and a little background on what services they provide; but it's pretty vague. I was then told about the company, and their growth in the last year. I was asked to sum up my I.T. career and background, and we went over my job history going back about 8 years. I was then asked what my weaknesses are, and what my strengths are. We then went into the technical part of the interview where I was asked 5 technical questions that are the "General Quiz Type" questions you get in I.T. interviews, but really have no relevance at all on your skill set or experience. The first question was "What are Group Policy Preferences?" and from what I was told by my recruiter who set this interview up, they have interviewed 6 or 7 people over the last few months; and everyone has gotten this question wrong! Except one guy. Our conversation got cut off again as I could not hear him, and he moved phones again; and had to call me back. When he called back, I was put back on speaker phone. He concluded the interview by asking me to tell him about myself and what I like to do when I am not working. He then told me a little more about the position, and asked if I could travel for work; and did the job sound like something I would be interested in. My recruiter has been waiting on feedback for a few weeks and apparently there has been nothing from their end. If you do make it past the initial interview, I was told you have to go before the C.I.O. and if he doesn't like you; then you won't get the job. Seeing as I was the 7th or 8th person they have interviewed, I don't know if they will ever find someone who answers all of their technical questions correctly, or whom the C.I.O. likes enough to offer the job to.
