I applied for ESAM and there the interview are one on one with the professors. An entire day is devoted to meeting multiple faculty members and talking about their research. Lunch is with two current graduate students. They didn't call down multiple perspectives at the same time when I was interviewed. Now much has changed. It is still a lot of one on one attention with the faculty, but now there are more opportunities to meet and interact with the graduate students in the department.

Write a personal statement followed by interviews with the faculty. Selection process is very difficult. Prior publications are a huge plus. Letter of recommendation from a famous professor can help. Research experience is necessary
