second stage with team: The interview process was extremely disappointing. hr was good but then The focus was almost entirely on behaviour and unnecessary bureaucracy in tech interview , rather than genuine hiring. It became clear that the manager had no real intention of hiring and was simply ticking boxes to justify a pre-decided rejection.
Despite spending weeks preparing — reviewing SQL, Python, modelling frameworks, and completing all infromation about company and method— there were no specific technical questions. They seemed to look for excuses rather than evaluate skill. The process felt subjective and based on personal preference or “gut feeling”, especially in the in-person stage.
I invested my own time, money, and travel for an interview that could easily have been done online, only to be dismissed without meaningful evaluation. The experience was not respectful of candidates’ effort, and I would not recommend spending your resources on a process that feels predetermined and inconsistent.
