First had a phone interview with a manager who explained about the role and what I should expect I the interview process , then a video call with the hiring manager

Just had a telephonic round. My Resume was selected from the pool. I applied for the role of SDE but HR said the role is not decided yet. After the interview I asked for a feedback which was extremely positive but the next day she rejected me by saying other candidates had experience in ML. I dont understand why they want ML for SDE roles.
