      Colloquio

I had a family member in management who recommended that I come in for the career fair that they hold annually. I came in and was called back for second interview but was late.... therefore I did not get the job. I re-applied 6 months later, and came in for my second interview. They asked me to do a math aptitude test, which was timed. I aced it. I took a drug test, and was hired upon passing!

      Colloquio

I remember thinking that the whole process seemed like an afterthought for them, like "oh yeah, we got somebody coming in for an interview, lets find a supervisor who can meet with him." First off, I got there about 10 minutes early and they made me wait the better part of an hour before anybody other than the receptionist even spoke to me. The guy who finally did interview me muttered something about being in a meeting and he apparently liked what I had to say because he walked me around and showed me to another lady who was kinda mean. She talked to me and asked me some questions, but didn't seem to really care about the answers I gave. They told me to come in for training a day or two later. The general training was really stupid and kinda fragmented. They made us watch a video about their culture where a bunch of people were dressed like a gospel choir in green robes and started singing about that song Celebrate good times, but instead it was "celebrate our team". When that was over a woman from the office staff basically read a couple page from the manual to us and offered us a few tips and told us that we shouldn't park in the visitor lot anymore because we belonged to them now. The job training basically involved shadowing somebody and using their scanner to scan packages before stocking them to the shelf. The sad part was that only some people were allowed to train new hires so another guy and I got lumped together with one trainer and so we got like half the experience we should have if we'd been trained individually instead. It doesn't seem like such a big deal now, but with as focused as they are were on productivity and numbers it seemed kinda inefficient to have one guy just watching while the other guy stocked things. I know this is supposed to be about the interview, but I mention all of this because we were hired as temp to permanent pending a probation period. basically the next couple of months were a trial period and you could get written up for being one minute late in the morning or coming back from lunch. The good news is I managed to get through the temp period, even though I had one or two occurrences, but I think they were about to fire another guy but he went ahead and quit first.
