      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite segnalazione di un dipendente. La procedura ha richiesto una settimana. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso OfferUp (Seattle, WA)

      Colloquio

I talked with a former colleague that was interested in bringing me in. Right off the bat I could tell this probably wouldn't work out given my requirements, but I was still flown in for an interview. The company recently turned over a lot of senior management, which I can see reading the company reviews is a common thing. I did a standard panel technical interview that consisted of 5 interviewers over the course of the day. The head of HR was fairly new and tried to create a pleasant experience. Overall, I have no problem with the interviews themselves. Pretty standard technical battery, design this, tell me about your experience dealing with difficult people, what's your workflow like, etc. But it was super clear why I was brought in there by the end, newer managers were trying to staff up their areas with people that could trust or would be loyal to them because of prior relationships. I had read all the employee reviews on Glassdoor prior to the interview. Every one that I interviewed with seemed nice on the surface, but I could tell there were a few sharks in the bunch. Those were the newer people and the more tenured people didn't appear to realize what was happening. I didn't end up getting an offer, probably in part because what I required was extreme, but even if they came through on that, the environment I would've started in likely would've been very toxic. I have almost no doubt my contact would've been expecting me to back his every play with hesitation. I think one of the others that I interviewed with also blocked me in the hiring review because I wasn't his person. At least, that's what I read from the situation.
