I applied through GATE-2018. Panel consisted of 5 members. 4M+1F. They were very supportive and wanted the interview to be cool and calm. Questions were both HR and Technical. And they also focused on Project and Industrial Training. To me, the technical questions were related to the project and training.

What is the max. percentage of carbon in steel?
what if we increase this percentage of carbon?
what is the unique property of cast iron as per loading conditions (Ans. compressive loads only)?
About their presence in my city (Bokaro Steel City) and the ongoing project.
And how is CBM present there i.e., beneath the coal bed or entrapped within the coals.
