Recruiter reached out. screening done. three rounds of interviews with product team done. All three were very good. got glowing feedback. Comes the engineering round and all kinds of deep technical questions were asked; as if it was not for a product role but for a engineering role. Interviewer also came across as slightly rude; dismissive of my candidature from beginning (as if he didnot like that i come form no formal tech background). in short, i was rejected after this round. Rejection didnot hurt me. -it's normal. but the way engineering rounds were conducted were left me perplexed as if product team was at the mercy of this person. Recruiter's interaction also from the begnning was very passive, reluctant to talk over phone and only responding through mail in one or two liner. It was sad that such a good product team was negatively overshadower by other elements.
