First stage screening with friendly recruitment associate. Second stage was a paired programming refactor of a Typescript function with some unit tests to drive refactoring. This was an enjoyable interview. The interviewers were fantastic. It was more a discussion and casual chat than interview. Final stage competency with Head of Engineering. This was also great. The interviewer was very transparent about the company and situation, and in answering all questions related to the challenges inside the engineering space. It was unfortunate to find out that no offer was to be extended. The interviewers were perhaps too forthcoming with positive words of affirmation towards my fit with the team and product. This left me a little saddened when it turned out different decisions had been made after the interviews had concluded. However, this is the challenge with interviewing currently. Overall this was a very positive experience and from what I've seen of Collective, I'd recommend anyone to engage with them around future employment
