Was contacted by someone on the team, who rescheduled our intro call more than once before we finally had it. They were incredibly distracted during the call and ended it early to run a personal errand, which didn't make for a great first impression.
I was then asked to do a project and scheduled the next call with them to go over it. I was also asked to do a WonScore test, which may be one of the most patronizing things I've ever been asked to do for an employer during the interview process.
When we finally had the second call, this person was again extremely distracted and clearly replying to either messages or emails during the process of going over this project I was asked to do. I was also asked to not put more than a couple of hours into it at most, yet the follow up questions they were asking me betrayed an expectation that I'd spent significantly more time on the project than they claimed I should. Either they didn't understand (or know) what was asked of me or didn't respect that there's only a certain amount of time you should be asking a candidate to commit to a take-home project before it becomes exploitative.
At the end of the call they claimed I'd hear back from them — a week from that day. And if I didn't, to follow up with them to see what next steps would be. While I understand they were considering other candidates, an entire week to make a decision is unnecessarily long. I gave them six days before following up, but they never replied.
In the interim, I had other employers make me offers, who actually respected my time and didn't make me wait for them to maybe, possibly get back to me. When I followed up again to let them know I was accepting another offer, pulling out of the interview process, and thanked them for their time, they never replied to that, either.
Awful experience.
