      Colloquio

Multiple rounds of interviews with a mix of behavioral questions and working through business problems. Very good and communicative recruiter. Very smart team and cool office vibe. Interviews were challenging and they know what they are looking for.

      Colloquio

I'm not generally an interview review kind of person, but this was the worst candidate experience I've ever had. Hopefully this can save other candidates some frustration. Here is a brief summary of the process: 1. Started with cold outreach from senior team member. 2. Multi-hour take home assignment: passed with zero feedback. 3. On-site super day: 5 interviews; genuinely liked the team and thought it could be a good fit. 4. Several days after the recruiter said they'd originally get back to me, recruiter is finally willing to schedule a call. Schedule a call for 7pm local time where I'm on vacation. I say that's as late as I can do because I have a dinner planned. Last minute, recruiter asks if I can reschedule to 8. Frustrating, but OK. Recruiter doesn't actually call until 8:30. Recruiter tells me the team liked me, but they like to do "trial" contract work for several weeks before a "full" offer. This has never been mentioned before. 5. I say I wouldn't do any trial period without knowing what the compensation package would be at the end, if it seemed like a good fit. Recruiter quotes a package that is 20-25% lower than market, but tells me the stock "could be worth millions" and then walks me through a scenario in which the stock grows 500-1000%, there is no dilution, and liquidity isn't a concern. I say salary would also have to be commensurate with peers. Recruiter has to get back to me. 6. Recruiter tells me that, upon further reflection, they could actually pay what I expected. Also, says "we weren't able to schedule an interview we usually do, can you come back _tomorrow_? Plus, we want to add a technical interview." 7. I clear my schedule, go in following afternoon for 2 more hours of interviews. 8. Again days pass beyond the original date recruiter said I'd hear back. I get no response to multiple emails. Finally, get an email at 1:25 asking if I can talk before 2. I respond immediately saying I can chat before 2. I get a call at 2:15. I'm told "we're not ready to give a final decision. Q3 head count is still being finalized. And, there are some candidate references from the CEO that we'd have to evaluate before we can give you an answer. Can we stay in touch?" Recruiter can't tell me when they'd have clarity. 9. I decline to stay in touch and be further strung along. To recap: a take-home assignment that took an afternoon, 2 on-sites with 7 total interviews, all communication is late, and there isn't actually a job. I never got a real answer. The actual team seemed very competent and I really enjoyed a chat I had with another senior person. As a company, I think Opendoor has unusually high potential. Be aware that the recruitment process can be frustrating and deceptive, however. Look out for smokescreens and lowballing.

      Colloquio

Came in over 3 days. First day was just one 2 hour long discussion with hiring manager. Second day was a series of 6 30 minute case style interviews with different people. One of these was more cultural. After this i came in again and talked to the person who was leading the Business Ops org at the time

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

traditional case interviews (e.g., those used in consulting), about random things or about Opendoor
