typical interview questions from any interview process
Thank you for sharing your experience. We will use this feedback to get better. Sometimes the process can hit snags along the way but with continued review of the process and feedback, like this, we will continue to evaluate and refine our processes. Thanks again.
Supplied a resume, had a conversation with the director, unpaid technical assessment, then conversation with the team.
They ghosted me. Very unprofessional. Engineering leadership is new as they are migrating to a new technology.

Contacted by HR to setup 30 min interview with CTO.
Initial 30 min talk with CTO to understand your experience and also to get a clear picture of what the company is about and looking for.
After that an hour long technical interview with CTO and couple of engineers, on video chat.
From my side the interview went well. The engineers were nice and we had a good discussion. Most of the questions were around my projects and how they were setup. Lot of Java and Spring Boot related questions and how I used them in my projects.
The CTO is involved in all the interviews, since it's a small size company. But the vibe that I got was that CTO will hold it against you, if you are coming from a big size company. Because during the interview I had to hear 'well because you are a big corporation...' more times than you would expect. Later, recruiter confirmed it by telling me that he had heard similar comments from other candidates who happen to be working for a bigger corporation.
I guess the concern might be that people might be able to fit in a start-up like size or culture or they don't get enough hands-on experience at a big company. I just hope they don't lose out on good candidates with that thought process.
So, if you coming from a big size company be prepared for it.
If the concern is not enough hands-on experience, then I would suggest they jump on the bandwagon of hackerrank and such online tests.

Most of the questions were projects mentioned in the resume. Details around what technologies were used in it and how they were setup.
Spring Boot and Spring Data JPA related questions.
Thank you for your feedback! While many things of changed since you interviewed in 2017, we still take your comments as a part of the puzzle while we continue to grow and make improvements.
