I applied online. I had a call with HR followed by VP. I didn’t do well. He described 3 PM roles to me asking me to pick one. The phone line wasn’t clear and I didn’t bother to take notes as I was thinking they are generic PM roles, to add to that the line wasn’t clear. I guess he was using a speaker phone and I already told him I wasn’t able to hear clearly. So now come gogley, he asked to pick one PM role and tell him about my work experience related to it. I didn’t even get to hear the job description. It was my fault I should have stopped him there and should have made him repeat jobs R&R. But I kept blabbering without knowing or understating(more about the roles) the question correctly. Then and there itself I knew its over. For formality sake he asked me few other questions and I answered. Got a rejected few days later. Biggest lesson was if u don’t understand the question never answer. By the way he called me at wrong times I had to rush back to home from office to attend the interview but no excuses. Felt really bad prepared very hard for it. I had some good & related experience as well.

I was connected to a member of the engineering team via a mutual friend. After one Skype conversation and a couple coordinating emails, I was contacted by an engineering recruiter to visit the SF office. What a cool place, and right in the heart of SF so the commute is a cinch. My SF on-site visit was a short-notice office tour and two brief behavioral / background conversations. I could tell from the get-go this would be a great place to work (confirmed by a couple friends who work there). A product hiring manager and hiring coordinator worked quickly to identify a possible fit, and invited me in for an on-site in VA. The VA on-site interview (~6 hours) was well organized and the team was welcoming. I completed a 2-hour assignment beforehand to accompany one of several interviews throughout the day in the VA offices. Again, great location, team, and ambiance, featuring an open floor plan, great kitchen, lounge space, ping pong table, wall for your bike(s), and a robot (which may or may not actually move ;-) ... this needs further research). The process was flexible: they took all interests into account when identifying a possible best-fit and interview timeline. The process was efficient: It was about a month from introduction- to two on-site visits (one meet and greet in SF and one formal round in VA) to the final dialogue. The on-site visit and all of the interviews were arranged within a couple days: Thursday, confirmed; Monday, on-site. I didn't receive the offer, sadly, but I did get solid feedback from the team. So that part is cool.
