I had already received a job offer elsewhere, but I decided to attend my scheduled interview with Oscar out of curiosity. After my experience, I can confirm that the reviews you’ve read about their interview process are accurate. I understand that Oscar is a new start-up and they're aiming to hire top talents, however, this is not a FAANG+ company. They expect candidates to jump through hoops and endure a rigorous interview process for such a low salary. You would have to go through multiple one-on-one interviews and do case studies just to pass the first round. Given the intensity of these interviews, I would expect a compensation package way exceeding six figures. Fortunately, my decade of experience in healthcare data analytics made the process manageable for me. However, their demands do not align with their offered pay. On top of that, the interview experience varied significantly depending on the hiring manager. One of my one-on-one interviewers had a very strong accent. I had a hard time understanding his questions and despite my polite requests for clarification, he seemed very offended. The design of their case studies was also odd. In critical thinking exercises, the end result presented to stakeholders should be consistent regardless of the thought process. However, Oscar's evaluators seemed to disfavor any approach that differed from their expectations, even if the results were identical. This suggests a micro-managing work environment where differing opinions are unwelcome. If you have the time, I recommend looking at older reviews from previous employees from the year 2020 to see more examples of what I mean.

I first had HR Screening call with a recruiter, which was then CodeSignal interview with hiring manager. After, I had a panel interview with the team member and cross-functional team members. I enjoyed talking to the hiring manager and mostly with the panel but my last panel interviewer started vaping in the middle of the interview and was rude and unprofessional throughout the whole interview, which I found very disrespectful and was easy for me to decide I didn't want to work in this company.
