      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Outfront Media

      Colloquio

I interviewed with the VP of Data and Analytics, and honestly, it was a waste of time. The whole conversation was focused on my resume timeline. Graduation year, gaps, etc. instead of anything technical. That’s not how you evaluate engineers. There were zero technical questions. No coding, no system design, nothing. It felt like he either hasn’t done real hands on engineering in years or never really did at all. The questions stayed very surface level the entire time. At one point, I was explaining a project I worked on, and he cut me off to question my impact without even understanding the context. It came across as dismissive and borderline condescending. The bigger red flag was the overall vibe, very low trust. It felt like the kind of place where managers micromanage and don’t actually trust their engineers. And this is 2026, remember you are not just interviewing a candidate, the candidate is interviewing you too, especially for senior data engineering roles; interviews go both ways. This didn’t feel like an environment where experienced engineers would have any real ownership. Also, they’re still using Oracle, which wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the job description. When I asked, I was told they’re “migrating,” but there was no clarity on what that actually means. If you care about technical growth or working with strong engineering leadership, I’d stay away.
