It was uncomfortable and borderline hostile. It was not like any other interview I've been to. I am disabled and can only be on my feet for 4 hour periods, so i applied for a part time positionthat advertised 3 hour shifts which is perfect for me. They asked me to come in the next week and demo my abilities. What actually happened when I got there is I was just given duties off the kitchen's mass prep list and put to work. After more than 3 hours I had to go home and take my medication. I was told I would receive a call and never did. I left them 2 messages to no avail. I consulted with some trusted friends and they told me that this situation sounded illegal. We confirmed that unpaid "working interviews" are a form of wage theft, and I reported the to the Wage and Hour Division.
