Interviewed for the significant AE sales position in Chicago, I began the process impressively by demonstrating a deep comprehension of their culture, leadership style, and value proposition. Throughout the interviews, I navigated the process smoothly and transparently until the final step. In each interview, the entire leadership and teams expressed support for me, including the hiring manager. However, in the end, the hiring manager revealed that they were seeking a candidate with extensive experience and industry-specific expertise. Unfortunately, this was a requirement he knew from the start but decided to keep me in the interview process without informing me of my chances. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, these thorough interviews and strong endorsements from the leadership and teams turned out to be a waste of time. The hiring manager knew from the beginning that they were looking for someone with extensive experience and industry-specific expertise, making my inclusion in the interview process fruitless.
