I applied via their website by submitting my CV and cover letter. I applied in early September '13 and received first correspondence via email in late September from a HR Coordinator to set up an initial phone screen. The first phone screen was very straight forward. He asked me what I was doing, why I was interested in Palantir and why I was a good fit. He was quite pleasant and the conversation was relaxed. After this, he set up another call with another Deployment Specialist. This call was similar to the first phone screen. The purpose of the call was to simply ask me about my skills and experience, mixed with some behavioural questions like what my greatest weakness was. He then tell me more about the position and the company. He was also a nice guy who made some casual chit chat before diving into the interview. Following the DS interview, they scheduled for me to talk to an Engineer. This time it got interesting and a little more challenging since he asked me some technical problem solving questions. Since the role is not a technical one, they don't ask you very programatic problems but things you can solve with good knowledge of Excel or other data software. After this, I moved onto the next round with the head of recruiting for Australia. This interview was similar to the last one but asked more challenging technical problem solving questions. I thought I gave fairly reasonable answers but it turns out my answers were not good enough. This is when my application process stopped and I received an email explaining so. I found the process to be too long (4 months!). They would often take weeks to get back to me about the next step. Sometimes I would get emails from two different people in different locations, trying to organise the same interview, so it was confusing at times as to what stage I was at, or if they were in sync across their hiring team. It took a month between my last interview and the last email, informing me I would not proceed. I felt like they left me hanging for a while and could have told me earlier so I didn't have false hope. Overall, Palantir is an incredible startup company that is changing the game of data.
