Palantir is a company that I had my eye on for a couple of years, starting when a friend and former colleague said she thought it would be a great fit for me. Naturally, when someone from HR contacted me on LinkedIn recently, I sent her my resume, and we set up a time to talk on the phone. The call was pretty standard - "Tell me about yourself and what you're looking for in your next position." The call lasted about 20 minutes and seemed to go well; she said she'd share my resume with the hiring manager and be in touch by the end of the week. She emailed me back a few days later to tell me "the opportunity here might not be the best fit for your background and career aspirations." When I responded to ask what experience I should focus on getting to be a better fit for the role/company, she told me she "couldn't provide feedback due to legal considerations." They knew my background after I sent my resume. If it wasn't a good fit for the position, HR shouldn't have wasted any time scheduling and conducting an interview just to reject me right afterwards. This series of events was frustrating, and it's highly unlikely that I would consider Palantir as a potential employer again in the future.

Had a chat with HR and then a technical interview with an engineer. They gave some some quite normal leatcode type questions that I had to answer to continue to the next steps.
