So not only did I apply to this position, I tried earlier this year to apply to another position and ended up working with the same in-house recruiter. There are a couple of reviews about this particular recruiter which I can attest to. Didn't always follow up in a timely manner, and you had to light a fire under him to get him to respond. Would ask for your availability on a given week, he’d get the responses from the candidates, and then not respond for 2-4 weeks. Very weird. It was like pulling teeth trying to follow up with this guy. In any case, I also managed to interview with the hiring manager, who seemed nervous or shy and did not want to do the interview. Very young girl - seemed to be in her 20s, maybe 30 years old max. I tried to start a dialogue and actually have a conversation with her about the position - she seemed like she just wanted to ask the questions she had and then get off the call to go back to work. Emailed her once to thank her for her time - no response back. Not even a full week later, the recruiter emails me to tell me that they already selected another candidate for the job. This also happened with my first application with ViacomCBS - just a few days after following up to check the status of things, I would get a note saying they already chose a candidate. These people don't seem trustworthy at all, and are not diligent in following up with candidates. Not so sure I would want to apply with this company in the future, considering certain people and departments have a habit of dragging their feet in this process.
