Applied online for a position in Europe(Romania)and was contacted after 3-4 weeks to schedule a phone interview a week later. The interview went OK and was very straight forward, and was told that I will hear from them(will be contacted by a manager) after a week or two but never heard from them. Very hard (if not impossible) to get in if you don't have an inside person, referrals have priority.
