I had a very disappointing and deeply concerning recruitment experience with Peker Automotive. After several successful interviews and assessments, I received a formal written job offer, and even began preparing documents for my visa application.
However, shortly after I respectfully inquired whether taking time off for Friday prayers (Jumu'ah) would be acceptable within the company’s culture, I was suddenly informed that the position was no longer available—due to "organizational changes."
While this may sound like a neutral explanation on the surface, it was clear to me that the real reason behind the offer being withdrawn was my request regarding religious observance. Up until that point, everything was progressing smoothly, and the timing of their decision left no doubt.
Despite reaching out for clarification, I received no proper response. Some of the engineers I had spoken to were unaware the offer had even been canceled—further showing internal disorganization or concealment.
It is extremely unprofessional and unethical to mask discriminatory behavior under vague excuses. No one should be penalized for asking a simple question about religious accommodation—especially after a job offer is made.
If you value integrity, transparency, and inclusion, I strongly recommend thinking twice before engaging with this company.
