      Colloquio

This review was edited, at the request of the company, after new information was shared with me. My interview process with Peek has been a long, strange trip. A meeting for tea, a first interview of about three hours, and then a second interview for which I was asked to prepare a presentation outlining what I would do in the first 30 days, 90 days and one year on the job. This wouldn't have been unusual to me, except that it was all without knowing exactly what the role was, ever seeing a job description, or knowing the salary range. After the last interview there was a miscommunication - I sent references but they never received them - so they assumed I wasn't interested and then moved on to contacting one of my coworkers. However, that coworker says that they were told the meeting they had was informational and there was no open position. Because of this lack of clarity, both of us walked away feeling confused about whether or not there ever was a position and misled about why were asked to meet. We've since been contacted by the CEO multiple times and assured that this wasn't the intention or the fact of the matter, but still, it left a bad impression. My advice: tread with care and be very clear on the role in question and the full extent of their recruiting process (this info was shared with me after the fact; had I known their practices up front I probably would not have continued the process).
