Visited with a recruiter shortly after applying. Then had an informal video chat/interview via teams with the Hiring Manager. Was then invited to interview on site for panel interview(s). I had a strong feeling the hiring manager had already decided I wasn’t the right candidate for the role prior to my marking the trek for the interview, but was still invited on-site to interview. They seemed to be on the hunt for a strategy/strategic partner only, though the job description did have some tactical pieces outlined as responsibilities of the role as well. They were timely is letting me know I was not the selected candidate and that they would be pursuing other candidates, though the role had been posted 100+ days when I applied and still appears to be open.
