      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 2 mesi. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Penn State Health nel mese di dic 2024

      Colloquio

To answer very briefly, the application and interview process was unprofessional at best and somewhat disrespectful at worst. I had applied online for the position, and from application submission to interview took approximately 2 months. At one point (about a month after submitting my application), an HR employee (who is explicitly not mentioned by name or title, or association, as per community guidelines) had rejected my application (as a new grad) because "the manager [of a department who I am explicitly not identifying, per community standards] is looking for someone with experience" (despite the job posting not even mentioning an experience requirement). I had informed this individual from HR that another individual in that practice had informed me about the position and requested that I apply (which was true), to which that individual from HR then resubmitted my information. Approximately 2 weeks later, I was informed that I was approved to interview with the practice [which I am explicitly not identifying, per community guidelines]. Between that point and the interview, they had me submit 5 references through an online reference checking platform called "Checkster." I was later informed by one of my references that "if it comes up during the interview, there were a few places where I basically had to give you lower numbers than I wanted to give you because their system had implied that the high numbers I was trying to give you 'wouldn't look good'." This interview was scheduled with four other providers in the practice [who are not identified, per community standards] and myself. However, only one of the four people was actually present the entire time. One of the providers was present through a Zoom meeting, one of the providers straight-up never showed up for the interview, and the other provider showed up 20 minutes late, asked me 2 basic questions that they read off my resume, and left after being there for 6 minutes to "pick up [their] kid." Furthermore, the individual who was present in person for the duration of the interview appeared to be very disengaged during the interview, and sent very mixed signals (talking about both how their practice has hired new grads before and talking about their concerns about new grads). At the conclusion of the interview, I was told that HR would "have all of the information they needed to make a decision" and would "reach out to you at the beginning of next week." It wasn't until almost the end of that week that the individual involved in the hiring decisions in the practice [not mentioning title or identity, per community standards] had contacted me to inform me that they were "moving forward with another candidate" (and that was only after multiple attempts on my end to reach out to this individual). I never did hear back from the individual involved with the Human Resources aspects of the hiring process [no identifying information, per community standards]. In fact, during the entire 2 month process, I probably have about half a dozen instances where I had reached out to this individual (with legitimate questions and requests for clarification) and they just straight-up never answered me back. In my opinion, having reflected on the poor communication, lack of organization, mixed messages, and red flags that I had encountered during this application/interview process, I feel like it may have actually been in my best interest to have not joined such an organization.
