      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 2 mesi. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Per Scholas

      Colloquio

The interview process included 1) a phone screen with a recruiter, 2) a video interview with the hiring manager, and 3) a panel interview with the local campus team where I presented a short slide deck on a career development topic (I chose behavioral interviewing). Overall, the interview process itself was okay. I genuinely saw no reason why I wouldn't join the team until after I experienced the offer process. - On 2/27 I received a verbal offer and was told that the specifics of the benefits package would be shared shortly after. - As of 3/5, I still have not received a response to basic questions about PTO days, sick days, healthcare premiums, and medical coverage limitations. Despite that, I'm still being asked to provide a final decision. --While I would hope that no one would accept an offer without being able to assess the full picture of the opportunity, I most certainly will not do that. --Not only would it set a bad example for the learners in your community, it goes against my values. -I was redirected multiple times regarding the appropriate point of contact which was confusing and caused unnecessary communication breakdowns. -When attempting to negotiate the terms of the offer to ensure I had the support required to produce high-quality work while securing a reasonable work/life balance, I was met with an unwillingness to collaborate on a solution. --Instead, I was told that much of my concerns would need to be addressed by the Managing Director who is yet to be hired. --I was also told that working in a nonprofit requires sacrifice-- an egregious response to the sort of self advocacy that I hope you encourage your learners to engage in. -After presenting 3 different ideas of my own for how we could make this work for both of us, I was told to come up with additional ideas without any investment in working together as partners- an expectation I would have for any employer. --Of course, I did exactly that and asked about flexibility in salary. Only then did I learn that the original job posting was "erroneous" --While the salary range was listed at 60-65K, a range confirmed during the phone screen, the actual range is 50-60K. --At best, this is misleading information that, had I known several weeks ago, would have prevented me from applying to the role at all. At worst, it is intentionally deceitful. --This means that I invested nearly 10 hours of time (roughly $500-800 worth) that would have been better spent earning an income to support my family. --As of 3/5, this role is still listed with the wrong salary range. -Despite the way this conversation unfolded, I was told that the entire process has been transparent. Objectively, this is not true.
